🛰 Cause of Express-AT1 Satellite Failure Identified

The preliminary cause of the failure of the Russian satellite Express-AT1 has been identified as a malfunction in the power supply system.

This was reported by the Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC). A final conclusion will be issued by a special commission, but millions of viewers in Siberia and the Far East have already faced the real consequences of the incident.

Broadcasting has been disrupted in 13 regions, including Altai Krai, Krasnoyarsk Krai, and Omsk Region. Between 300,000 and 500,000 subscribers of Tricolor, NTV-Plus, and Russkiy Mir have been left without TV service.

There are no backup satellites currently available in orbit, forcing operators to urgently reroute broadcasting to other satellites (such as Yamal-402) or wait for the repositioning of Express-AT2 in April.

As a support measure, operators in the Far East may receive TV channel signals free of charge for three months via the Medialogistika platform by placing an order through the Mediabaza system.
