🛸 “Project Hail Mary” Tops the Global Box Office
The sci-fi blockbuster Project Hail Mary is showing remarkable staying power. In its second weekend, the film surpassed $300 million at the global box office, becoming the highest-grossing Hollywood release of 2026 so far.
The adaptation of Andy Weir’s novel, starring Ryan Gosling, delivered one of the best audience retention results in the genre’s history: the drop in U.S. box office was only 32%—better than Oppenheimer and Dune: Part Two.
Audiences are thrilled with the duo of biologist Ryland Grace and the alien Rocky—word of mouth is in full swing, and Amazon MGM is already seriously considering a sequel.
Meanwhile, Pixar is also celebrating success: its original animated film Hoppers has grossed $297 million, holding second place among Hollywood releases this year.
Close behind the leaders are the Indian action film Dhurandhar: Revenge and the horror-comedy They Will Kill You.
