👳🏾‍♂️ “Dhurandhar: The Revenge” Is Rewriting the History of Indian Cinema

The action film Dhurandhar: The Revenge has become a true box office phenomenon.

In just 11 days, the sequel from Jio Studios and B62 Studios grossed $147.8 million worldwide, officially surpassing the total earnings of the first installment.

Director Aditya Dhar’s film achieved the unthinkable in North America: with $23 million in revenue, it dethroned long-time leader Baahubali 2, setting a new record for Indian cinema in the region. The film also beat the opening performance of Shah Rukh Khan’s hit Pathaan, delivering the biggest debut ever for a Hindi-language film.

Starring Ranveer Singh in a dual role, the movie is also making waves in non-traditional markets, releasing in 2,200 theaters across countries such as Chile, Germany, and even Uruguay. For now, Dhurandhar holds the top spot among Indian films in almost all international markets except the UK.

Next up is a potential release in China, where the film will challenge the legendary Dangal.
