📺 Software Matters More Than Hardware, and Remotes Are Fading Away

The TV market has reached a technological plateau: screens and hardware across most brands have become nearly identical. What manufacturers are competing on now was explained by Vadim Eremin, Commercial Director of smart devices at Yandex.

Competition is shifting toward software. Consumers are no longer choosing based on hertz and watts, but on the convenience of the OS, smart recommendations, and integration with AI assistants.

Remotes may soon become obsolete. Within the next 3–5 years, traditional remote controls could turn into an anachronism, with full control shifting to voice.

Yandex is rolling out its interface powered by Alice across partner brands like Tuvio, DEXP, and Hi, making smart home technology more accessible.

Price increases ahead. There’s little reason for optimism: due to shortages of chips and memory, electronics prices are expected to rise by 10–15% within the next six months. By the end of 2026, increases in TVs, smartphones, and laptops could exceed 20%, with no clear signs of prices stabilizing.
