😈 AI Is Being Introduced in Hollywood Despite Restrictions
While the film industry fears AI-generated copies of actors and scripts written by chatbots, the real expansion of these technologies in Hollywood is happening quietly and from the ground up.
According to an investigation by The Hollywood Reporter, assistants and junior studio staff are widely using neural networks to cope with layoffs and extreme workloads.
Shadow AI
To keep up with everything, employees secretly copy scripts and deal details into free versions of ChatGPT and Claude to generate reports and meeting summaries. This creates significant risks of confidential data leaks.
Automation of routine tasks
AI tools write polite rejections, select gifts for partners, and build schedules. “I shouldn’t have to spend two hours sending a bottle of wine to the middle of nowhere,” one assistant admits.
The stance of industry giants
Disney has already held an internal summit on integrating AI across all departments (this happened months before closing a $1 billion deal with OpenAI). At the same time, some agencies are explicitly banning AI, betting on “independent thinking.”
A succession crisis
Experts point to a troubling side effect: assistants who rely on AI for optimization stop developing the unique skills and connections needed for career growth.
In an environment where one person is now doing the work of two or three, AI is no longer just a tool—it has become a means of survival in a shrinking industry.
