🤖 Neural networks to remake the classics
The beloved characters of legendary children’s author Eduard Uspensky have been given a second life through modern technology.
On April 21, the Kion streaming service will premiere two animated series—“Vera and Anfisa” and “The Investigation is Conducted by Kolobki”—both created with the assistance of artificial intelligence.
The production utilized approximately 30 different neural network models. AI assisted artists in generating and animating visuals based on storyboards, significantly accelerating the production pipeline.
Despite the heavy use of technology, the projects were spearheaded by a team of 30 professionals, including prompt engineers, animators, and editors, under the direction of Georgy Melik-Allakhverdov and screenwriter Andrey Gavrilov.
Each series consists of 52 episodes. Audiences can look forward to new adventures featuring five-year-old Vera and her mischievous monkey friend, Anfisa, as well as the intricate investigations of the detective brothers and their assistant, Mila.
ON Media holding (formerly MTS Media) emphasizes that AI is not a replacement for creators, but rather a powerful tool that allows for the release of high-quality content at a much faster pace.
To preserve the familiar magic of the characters for a new generation, the roles were performed by professional voice actors.
