🎤 Mediabaza unveils new content distribution automation services

At the World Content Market 2026, MSK-IX presented new capabilities for its industrial platform, Mediabaza, tailored for the professional media market.

Over the past year, the platform has significantly expanded its functionality, now integrating a content marketplace, secure cloud-based file management tools, and AI-driven services for distribution prep into a single ecosystem.

As part of the forum’s business program, Platform Manager Dmitry Rassadin and Development Manager Sofya Pashuta presented the system’s “three-layer” architecture: Mediabaza Market, Mediabaza Techno, and Mediabaza Mdisk. The experts emphasized that this structure enables seamless production chains, optimizing every stage of media asset management.

Dmitry Rassadin elaborated on the technological approach aimed at reducing costs and eliminating redundant operations when handling media materials.

“Our key objective is to ensure that content doesn’t make unnecessary movements. Within the Mdisk cloud storage, we have implemented a system where a source file folder becomes a unified workspace for the rightsholder and their localization or transcoding contractors, eliminating the need to export data to external environments,” he noted.

The speaker paid particular attention to the integration of AI tools designed to help companies meet regulatory requirements.

“We are developing a pre-compliance system. When a media file is uploaded, algorithms analyze the material for legal compliance and generate a report. While this does not replace final legal or editorial review, it significantly reduces the volume of manual labor,” Rassadin explained.

Sofya Pashuta presented practical use cases for the platform, highlighting its effectiveness as a lead-generation tool. She cited examples from Mediabaza residents, such as the Russian Travel Guide and Travel+Adventure channels, which utilize the platform not only for signal distribution but also as a marketplace for specialized services.

“Today, Mediabaza is a tool for solving specific business problems. For instance, if a broadcaster needs specific thematic content to fill their grid, the platform’s system of filters, tags, and targeted search allows them to connect with the right rightsholders faster. This leads to real negotiations and deals rather than just views for the sake of views,” Pashuta stated.

Regarding the evolution of the content library, she noted a growing interest in projects from CIS countries and regional studios.

“We see immense potential in national content. The platform already hosts projects from Belarusfilm, the Kyrgyzstan Cinema Center, and distributors from Kazakhstan. Our goal is to become a ‘one-stop shop’ where professional buyers can find everything from sports dramas to vertical videos for digital platforms,” the expert concluded.

Currently, the system boasts over 750 professional accounts, while the showcase includes more than 520 television channels and approximately 4,000 units of content.
