🎦 Mario maintains lead in British box office for second week
The animated hit from Universal, "The Super Mario Movie: Galactic Edition," retained its top spot in UK and Ireland cinemas following its second weekend.
According to Comscore, the film earned an additional £5.5 million ($7.5 million), bringing its total regional gross to an impressive £28.3 million ($38.2 million).
The science-fiction drama “Project Hail Mary” (Sony) held firmly onto second place in its fourth week of release. The film added another $3.3 million to its coffers, reaching a cumulative total of $36.7 million.
Securing third place was “The Drama,” starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, which collected $2.4 million in its second weekend, bringing its total to $7.8 million. Meanwhile, “The Magic Faraway Tree” continued to draw audiences in fourth place, with a total result of $15.7 million.
Rounding out the top five was Pixar’s “Hoppers,” whose total earnings in Britain have now reached $18.2 million.
Notably, K-pop made a significant mark in the middle of the charts: the live concert broadcast of the BTS World Tour “Arirang” in Goyang debuted in sixth place with $454,000. Among new live-action releases, the romantic comedy “You, Me & Tuscany” saw the best start, earning $407,000 to land at number seven.
