The Russian online cinema market has reached a new milestone. According to data from ICMR, as of the first quarter of 2026, 56% of urban residents are now using streaming subscriptions. The number of paying users has also hit an all-time high, reaching 45%.
Market Leaders:
- Kinopoisk: The undisputed market leader, capturing 27% of the total user base and a record-breaking 22% of paying subscribers.
- Okko: Securely holds the second position with a 14% reach.
- Ivi & Wink: These platforms are tied for third place (11% each). However, for the first time in two years, Ivi has pulled ahead in terms of paid account volume.
- Kion: Rounds out the top five with a 9% market reach.
Audience Demographics
Viewership activity is highest among Millennials (ages 25โ34) and residents of major metropolitan areas.
Experts note that the market has not merely recovered; it has entered a phase of vigorous growth, maintaining upward momentum despite traditional seasonal fluctuations.
