⏱️ Kion to reduce content discovery time
On Media holding (a subsidiary of MTS) unveiled its new OneClickStart feature for the Kion online cinema at the CIPR-2026 conference.
The feature allows users to resume a movie or series, or return to a television channel with a single click immediately upon launching the app, completely bypassing the main storefront interface.
As Alexei Arefiev, Director of Product Portfolio Management at the holding company, explained, the primary engineering challenge was integrating traditional TV content into the “continue watching” scenario. The team designed a seamless, unified viewing history, merging streaming and linear television into universal, rapid-access return points.
The rollout of OneClickStart will begin in phases across all Kion platforms in the second half of 2026, significantly reducing time-to-content for viewers.
