✍️ GPM and Xinhua News Agency to jointly train media professionals
Russia’s Gazprom-Media Holding (GPM) and China’s state-run Xinhua News Agency have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation focusing on specialized and professional media education.
The memorandum establishes a framework for a systematic exchange of expertise among journalists, editors, and media professionals from both countries.
Alexander Zharov, CEO of Gazprom-Media Holding, noted that the strength of this partnership lies in the synergy between Xinhua’s unique global news network and GPM’s deep production and marketing expertise in audiovisual content creation. He emphasized that China remains a strategic partner for the holding company and represents a high-priority vector for long-term growth.
Under the terms of the memorandum, the parties have agreed to develop joint educational programs, conduct seminars and internships, and regularly exchange industry best practices. Furthermore, Russian and Chinese media experts will actively participate in specialized conferences and forums hosted in both nations.
The new document serves as a logical continuation of the news content cooperation agreement signed by the media industry leaders in 2025 during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s official visit to Russia.
