🧠 Amazon Launches GenAI Creators Fund to Support Media Projects
Amazon has announced a massive integration of generative AI into the entertainment sector. Amazon MGM Studios and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have joined forces to launch the GenAI Creators Fund, an initiative designed to empower filmmakers, digital creators, and startups to leverage AI technologies across all stages of film and television production.
According to Albert Cheng, Head of AI at Amazon MGM Studios, these technologies can significantly reduce the costs of building expansive cinematic worlds while accelerating the production timeline.
The first projects to secure funding under the initiative are three animated series: Punky Duck from director Jorge Gutierrez, Love, Diana Music Hunters from former Nickelodeon executive Albie Hecht, and Cupcake & Friends from BuzzFeed Studios.
Fund participants will gain access to AWS’s Project Nara platform. This system seamlessly integrates industry-standard professional tools—such as Blender, Maya, and the Adobe Suite—with cutting-edge generative models, including the Kling AI and Amazon’s proprietary neural network trained on MGM Studios’ extensive library.
Amazon emphasizes that the initiative aims to democratize premium-tier technologies for a broader range of creators, ultimately leveling the playing field across the industry.
