πŸ‘ Nostalgia Sweeps Across Russian Viewing Audiences

Medialogia has released its Top 30 Russian TV Series Ranking for April 2026, revealing a dominant monthly trend: the triumphant comeback of legacy franchises and nostalgic reboots.

For the first time since January, a domestic production captured the top spot. The sports drama Molodezhka (The Junior League) led the chart with 2,057 points, accounting for 6.8% of the entire Top 30 monthly volume.

Rounding out the top five alongside the leader were the international hit The Boys (2,013 points), the anime series Jujutsu Kaisen (1,839 points), and the return of iconic Russian sitcoms Papiny Dochki (Daddy’s Daughters, 1,788 points) and Univer (1,682 points). These legacy broadcast franchises from CTC and TNT drove the market’s primary growth, while the wave of March premieres significantly lost momentum. High-profile March newcomers Prince Andrey and New Earth dropped out of the Top 30 entirely. Sequels and franchises that originated prior to 2025 captured a commanding 73.3% share of the ranking in April.

The overall share of Russian content within the Top 30 climbed to 66.7%, up from 62.7% in March. CTC (4,531 points) and NTV (4,155 points) emerged as the leading TV channels by cumulative score. In the international segment, alongside the surge of The Boys, analysts noted a resurgence of Euphoria in the charts and a continuing decline in interest for the final season of Stranger Things, which slipped to sixth place.

In the absence of major new hits, Russian viewers clearly preferred to return to time-tested television brands.
