📱 Mobile App for Micro-Drama Casting Launched

The industry of short vertical series and micro-dramas, which has become a multi-billion dollar business in Asia and the US, continues to develop its own technological infrastructure.

Darren Darnborough and Richard Cambridge, founders of the popular actor platform WeAudition, have announced the launch of the VertiCast mobile app. The developers position the new product as a specialized “Tinder for vertical casting,” where producers and directors can find actors using the familiar swiping mechanic.

According to the creators, VertiCast is not trying to compete with classic casting platforms or replace them. The app is designed as a complementary tool, adapted to the unique speed and specific production requirements of vertical content.

The specifics of mobile filmmaking demand maximum flexibility from teams: micro-drama production cycles take just a few days, making traditional lengthy selection procedures ineffective. VertiCast aims to modernize workflows by helping digital content creators quickly find the right faces, while offering actors additional opportunities and greater visibility in this rapidly growing segment.

As the vertical series format continues to scale worldwide, the demand for specialized technological solutions will only increase.
