๐บ CHE! Network to Broadcast Vertical Micro-Dramas
The highly popular mobile format of micro-dramas is expanding beyond smartphones to Russian television screens for the first time. Short-form vertical series, adapted for full-scale television broadcasting, will join the programming grid of the CHE! TV network (part of National Media Group).
The experimental project is slated to debut this Friday, July 3, within a dedicated late-night programming slot aptly titled “Love Vertically.”
The pilot broadcast lineup will feature four popular titles previously available exclusively to users of the Storis digital platform. Among them is the platform’s inaugural original micro-drama Pregnant by an Oligarch, which launched in 2025, alongside fast-paced hits Boss for One Night, Goal Straight to the Heart, and The Twins: Battle for the Heir. Consistently high viewership metrics for these releases on smartphones validated audience appetite for ultra-short-form content, prompting the holding company to take this major cross-media step.
Integrating a vertical frame into the traditionally horizontal environment of linear television represents an strategic attempt to bridge the mobile consumption habits of Generation Z with traditional viewing experiences. Elena Karpenko, Director of the CHE! TV network and General Producer of the Storis platform, emphasized that the narrative arc of micro-dramas is inherently engineered to maintain viewer engagement second by second. Translating this rapid pacing to the big screen is designed to offer audiences a fundamentally new consumer experience.
The initiative is positioned as a deliberate experiment aimed at reshaping media consumption patterns. Audiences will be able to evaluate how vertical intrigue and romantic drama translate to large home television screens every Friday at midnight sharp.
