๐ฐ IRI to Support 152 National Media Projects
The Internet Development Institute (ANO "IRI") has finalized the results of its national content competition, identifying the winning projects slated to receive state financial support in the coming years.
Financial assistance will be allocated to 152 projects distributed across five core thematic verticals. According to the IRI press service, the cumulative funding volume for the 2026โ2028 period will total 21.8 billion rubles. Grant recipients face strict deadlines, with all approved initiatives required to be fully executed by November 17, 2028.
Alexey Goreslavsky, CEO of IRI, highlighted a qualitative shift in the vector of submitted applications. According to Goreslavsky, contemporary creators are increasingly seeking to parse ongoing historical events, focusing on the geopolitical situation and Russia’s role on the global stage. The head of the institute noted a growing public demand for honest, deep-seated narratives that reflect values and topical issues that resonate with the audience.
Approved Projects by Category:
- Video Content (65 projects). The largest vertical, comprising scripted and documentary series. Among the most notable announcements are the sci-fi feature Academy of a Bright Future, based on the works of Kir Bulychev; a large-scale, 12-episode adaptation of Leo Tolstoy’s novel War and Peace; the espionage thriller Chief of Intelligence: The Cambridge Five; alongside historical documentary docuseries Children of the Battle of Kursk and Sergius of All Russia.
- Blogosphere Content (53 projects). Support within this niche was granted to reality shows, web series, and podcasts. Finalists include the social docu-reality show Hello, I Am Your Grandmother, the comedy sitcom Home Chat, and the project 80 Years, 80 Stories, timed to coincide with the anniversary of the Kaliningrad Oblast.
- Special Internet Projects (25 projects). Multimedia and interactive formats targeted at diverse demographics.
- Software Products (9 projects). The gaming sector includes promising domestic video games for PC and mobile platforms, including the highly anticipated RPG shooter The War of the Worlds: Siberia and the military-historical strategy game Banner of Victory.
