📹 Sber and Mosfilm Launch SberStudios

Deployed in a modernized 1,600-square-meter Mosfilm studio pavilion, the facility is designed to radically transform traditional approaches to creating domestic film, television, and advertising content through the integration of advanced digital tools.

The developers cite the seamless synchronization of all technological stages within a single production ecosystem as SberStudios’ primary competitive advantage. The complex unites principal photography, real-time generation of highly complex special effects, and turnkey post-production.

“We offer a full-cycle, turnkey production process, from concept to the final frame, and we are ready to train production teams and develop the industry alongside our partners. During our pilot phase, we shot more than 30 film and commercial projects here, and today we are officially opening our doors,” emphasized Vladislav Kreinin, Senior Vice President and Director of the Marketing and Communications Department at Sberbank.

The facility has already proven its commercial and creative viability during pilot testing. The studio successfully executed over three dozen projects, including commercial advertising campaigns and major feature films, such as Sadko, The Abyss, and Veselchak U (The Merry Man U).

The core of the SberStudios visual ecosystem is a massive 50-meter LED screen. By synchronizing the virtual scene with the camera’s motion sensors, the digital background dynamically recalculates in real time based on camera perspective. This allows actors to physically interact with three-dimensional digital objects right on set.

The array of technologies available at SberStudios includes:

• Integrated virtual production: Directors can view the final composite image, complete with all special effects, directly on the monitor during shooting, minimizing the costs associated with traditional green screens and lengthy post-production.
• Volumetric studio: A specialized camera rig designed for capturing and rendering high-definition volumetric 3D video.
• Motion Control systems: Robotic cranes capable of replicating high-precision camera movements for complex composite shots.
• AI VFX: Generative AI-powered tools for instantaneous creation and stylization of visual effects.

Beyond traditional filmmaking, the pavilion’s architecture and technical infrastructure allow the space to be transformed to host high-tech hybrid events, product launches, and large-scale interactive shows.
