๐ŸŽ Rutube Launches Unified Subscription Bundle with Kion

The Russian OTT market continues its trajectory toward deep ecosystem integration and bundling. The video service Rutube (part of Gazprom-Media Holding) has announced the launch of a joint subscription bundle with the online cinema Kion (owned by MTS).

For the platform, this marks its third major partnership project following the successful rollout of combined packages with Premier and Start.

Under the new offering, users receive a dual benefit: the complete removal of advertising on Rutube itself, paired with seamless access to Kion’s original content and licensed library. The bundle will be priced at 149 rubles for the first month, after which the price will adjust to a standard rate of 329 rubles per month.

Rutube’s strategic focus on bundling is driven by an explosive surge in consumer demand for combined digital products. According to company data, Russian users are purchasing unified Rutube bundles 11 times more frequently in 2026 than in 2025. For traditional online cinemas, such partnerships are emerging as a vital acquisition channel for reaching “cold” audiences, who have become prohibitively expensive to target through standard marketing tools.

“Online cinemas spend millions trying to discover new viewers. However, they can easily be found on Rutube: 83% of viewers who purchased the unified Rutube + Premier bundle represent a completely new audience that had never previously bought an online cinema subscription,” emphasized Victoria Makhno, CEO of Premier, highlighting the efficiency of the bundle model.

Management at the Kion cluster also expects a powerful synergistic effect from the partnership, viewing Rutube’s user base as a robust springboard for the distribution of its flagship projects.

“Kion boasts a strong lineup of original series and films, and this gives them another major venue to connect with audiences. This format is highly convenient for the user, while providing platforms with an additional tool for subscriber acquisition and retention. We expect multi-subscriptions to secure a prominent position in the Russian video streaming market,” commented Kirill Trenin, CEO of the Kion cluster.
