📺 LG Channels Platform Surpasses 5,000 FAST Channels

The FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV) market continues to exhibit exponential growth, cementing its status as one of the primary drivers of the modern media industry.

LG Electronics has announced a landmark milestone: the global library of its proprietary service, LG Channels, has surpassed 5,000 FAST channels. A key catalyst for this achievement was the platform’s recent launch in the Polish market.

Since its debut in 2015, the LG Channels project has systematically evolved from a simple pre-installed application into an international content distribution ecosystem. Today, the service is available in 37 countries, spanning North America, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia. The platform offers users a flexible programming grid that includes regional live TV, feature films, sports broadcasts, and lifestyle shows.

Alongside its geographical expansion, LG Channels is recording a qualitative leap in audience engagement:

  • Monthly Active Users (MAU): Global MAU grew by 30% year-on-year by the end of 2025.
  • Total Viewing Time: Cumulative watch time over the same period increased by more than 45%.

LG emphasizes that the quantitative expansion of content goes hand-in-hand with the platform’s technological refinement. The company is actively investing in the optimization of its webOS software, enhancing interface performance and application usability.

Proprietary AI algorithms occupy a central place in the platform’s development strategy. By implementing advanced AI recommendations that analyze individual viewer preferences, paired with upgrades to the user experience and interface (UX/UI), the process of discovering relevant content has become virtually instantaneous.

“We will continue to strengthen the competitiveness of our content and expand the global ecosystem so that viewers in diverse regions can enjoy relevant local content on LG Channels,” noted Chris Jo, Head of the webOS Platform Business Center at LG Media Entertainment Solution.

Amid a global shift in viewer interest toward free, ad-supported broadcasting models, LG is accelerating the transformation of its webOS operating system into a fully fledged hub for global digital services. To achieve this, the company intends to further deepen its partnerships with both leading international majors and local content providers in every market where it operates.
