🐴 Grok to Produce Its Own 'Odyssey'

Writing on X, the trillionaire declared that his Grok Imagine AI engine will generate a “historically accurate” feature-length adaptation of Homer’s poem by the end of 2026—just in time for the start of awards season.

“Before the end of this year, Grok Imagine will create a full-length feature movie of ‘The Odyssey’ that will be historically accurate and true to Homer’s art,” Musk posted, commenting on a three-minute AI-generated concept clip shared by an X user.

The claim of “historical accuracy” for an adaptation of an ancient epic teeming with mythical creatures like Cyclopes, six-headed monsters, and sorceresses raised eyebrows across the industry. Observers note that Musk’s outbursts stem from casting decisions in Nolan’s film; the businessman had previously publicly criticized the casting of Lupita Nyong’o as Helen of Troy, accusing the director of “anti-white racism” in a bid to win awards.

However, Musk’s public tirades have done little to derail the original’s box office momentum. Universal’s epic racked up $264 million globally in its opening weekend and remains on track to become the highest-grossing film of Christopher Nolan’s career.
