🍿 Animated Fairytale Tops China Box Office
Pearl Studio's animated fairytale All Wishes Come True! claimed the top spot at the Chinese box office over the weekend. Directed by Mu Zhengyang, the film grossed $46.3 million in its second weekend, bringing its cumulative total to $112.5 million.
Slipping to second place was the sports comedy Kung Fu Soccer from Shenzhen Film Studio, directed by Stephen Chow, which picked up $33.9 million in its third weekend. The film’s total box office reach has now hit $286.6 million.
Third place went to the sci-fi drama The Decisive Moment from Damai Entertainment, opening to $6.4 million over the weekend (with cume earnings reaching $8.6 million including previews starting July 25). Directed by Zhang Disha and produced by Huang Jianxin, the project previously served as the closing film for the Shanghai International Film Festival.
Universal’s thriller Obsession debuted in fourth place with $4.9 million. Rounding out the top five was Enlight Pictures’ youth drama A Part of Me, which added $2.7 million in its second weekend to bring its overall total to $21.6 million.
China’s overall weekend box office reached $102.3 million, pushing year-to-date earnings for 2026 to $3.15 billion—a 33.6% decline compared to the same period in 2025.
