💼 Vadim Vereshchagin to Head NMG Film Distribution
Vadim Vereshchagin, CEO of film company Central Partnership, will join National Media Group (NMG) effective September 1, 2026. In his new role, the executive will lead the holding's film cluster and assume the post of CEO at NMG Film Distribution (NMG Kinoprokat).
Vadim Smirnov, who previously headed the theatrical distribution unit, will remain with the company as an advisor to Vereshchagin. Meanwhile, executives of other key assets within the cluster—Anastasia Korchagina (Art Pictures Distribution) and Anton Sirenko (Commercial Fund for Film and Animation Development)—will retain their positions.
Gazprom-Media Holding (GPM), Vereshchagin’s departing employer, does not plan to hire an outside replacement. GPM CEO Alexander Zharov emphasized that the strategic distribution pipeline and production cadence will remain unchanged, with project management handled by internal resources.
NMG’s newly established film distribution and investment cluster will consolidate the group’s expertise across financing, rights acquisition, theatrical distribution, and downstream monetization across TV and digital platforms in Russia and international markets. According to NMG CEO Svetlana Balanova, consolidating these competencies will enable more efficient management of the entire content value chain. The new film cluster represents NMG’s third specialized unit, following the launches of NMG Doc in 2024 and the broadcast television cluster in 2025.
Vereshchagin has been in the film industry since 2002. He began his career at East-West before moving to United International Pictures, later joining Central Partnership in 2008 and rising to CEO in 2018. Since January 2026, Vereshchagin has also served on the Russian government council for domestic cinema development.
