The revised total allows Tom Holland’s fourth standalone outing to surpass the all-time domestic opening record set in 2019 by Avengers: Endgame ($357 million), securing the highest unadjusted domestic opening weekend gross in cinematic history.
The co-production between Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios set a slate of theatrical records. The feature posted the highest preview total in history ($72 million) alongside the record for the biggest single-day opening ($169.8 million). The film’s three-day global gross reached $932 million, trailing only Avengers: Endgame ($1.2 billion) for the second-largest worldwide launch of all time. Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group Chairman Tom Rothman expressed gratitude to the cast, crew, and studio marketing team, stating he was proud of the landmark achievement.
The runaway success of Brand New Day reinforces the franchise’s upward trajectory: expanding from Homecoming’s $117 million debut in 2017 and Far From Home’s $92 million start in 2019 to No Way Home’s $260 million launch in 2021, culminating in today’s $360 million opening.
