👀 Rutube Reaches 77% Audience Penetration

Video platform Rutube has reported significant growth across key audience metrics. According to data released by Gazprom-Media Holding, the service's cumulative reach among residents aged 12 to 60 across Russia's 15 largest regions has reached 77%.

Novosibirsk Oblast emerged as the top region for platform penetration, with 93% of residents using Rutube. Other high-performing territories include Sverdlovsk Oblast (88%), Moscow and the Moscow Region (86%), and Krasnodar Krai (80%).

Strong penetration figures were recorded across other federal subjects as well: Rostov Oblast reached 65%, Chelyabinsk Oblast recorded 64%, the Republic of Tatarstan stood at 56%, and the Republic of Bashkortostan hit 54%. Meanwhile, penetration in Krasnoyarsk Krai reached 52%, Voronezh Oblast registered 51%, Saratov Oblast recorded 47%, Omsk Oblast stood at 43%, and Perm Krai reached 39%.

Company representatives highlighted content expanded library as the primary growth driver. Feature films, scripted series, and lifestyle programming generated the highest user engagement.

Commenting on the platform’s positioning, Gazprom-Media CEO Alexander Zharov previously noted that Rutube is not framed as a direct alternative to YouTube, citing fundamental differences in content structure and catalogue composition between the two services.
