🎳 Gazprom-Media Outlines Strategic Goals
Gazprom-Media Holding has set its key development priorities for the next five years, with Chief Executive Officer Alexander Zharov outlining the company's strategic roadmap.
The top priority remains maintaining market leadership in producing premium entertainment content for the domestic Russian market.
A second critical focus area is large-scale international expansion. The holding company plans to significantly grow its overseas audience by targeting markets across the BRICS nations—primarily China and India—as well as countries in Africa and the MENA region.
As part of this global push, Gazprom-Media is launching several major international film projects. Production begins this autumn on the joint Russian-Chinese feature film Allies, with over 80% of principal photography scheduled to take place in China. A simultaneous theatrical release in both Russia and China is targeted for October 2027. Additionally, in collaboration with Indian filmmaker Nila Madhab Panda, the holding company is developing three projects: the narrative feature The Rajah of Chelyabinsk, a biographical film on ballerina Anna Pavlova, and a documentary on Nicholas Roerich.
Alexander Zharov also emphasized plans to expand the international footprint of the company’s unscripted formats, citing the Surviving in… reality show franchise, which has already filmed on location in Dubai, Samarkand, and Istanbul. Gazprom-Media’s original properties will continue to be adapted and scaled with an eye toward global distribution.
