▶️ DEEP Launches Online Streaming Platform for Asian Content

Russian distributor of Asian cinema and animation DEEP has announced the launch of its own online streaming platform. The official launch is scheduled for September 4 of this year.

The service will be positioned as a niche platform dedicated entirely to Asian titles—including anime, Chinese 3D animation (donghua), and Asian dramas.

At launch, the video service library will feature over 360 titles comprising 7.8 thousand episodes (approximately 3,700 hours of content). The platform plans to add at least 14 new episodes weekly, with the catalog set to expand by an additional 3 thousand episodes of previously released shows by the end of 2026. Among the company’s key projects is the localization of major franchises such as Attack on Titan and Ghost in the Shell. Viewers are promised a variety of voice-over options alongside original audio tracks with Russian subtitles.

The business model features a flexible subscription tier structure for various periods as well as an option for lifetime access to content. According to Evgeny Krasnov, Director of Content and Marketing at DEEP, focusing on a tight thematic niche will help bypass user “subscription fatigue,” as the audience gains access to the highest concentration of exclusive targeted content on a single platform.

The service will initially launch as a web version and an Android application; clients for iOS and Smart TV are currently in development. The platform is planned to be marketed both to the company’s established fandom and to a broader general audience.
