📹 Results Announced for the 4th "Original+ Doc" Festival
The 4th "Original+ Doc" Streaming Platform Documentary Content Festival concluded at the Gorky Film Studio (part of the Moscow Cinema Cluster), having run from August 25 to 28 as part of Moscow International Cinema Week.
The festival traditionally sets the direction for the documentary segment of Russian streaming services ahead of the new autumn season.
The festival’s highest honor—the award for “Original Documentary Project”—went to the film Mamonov. Film. Concert (jointly produced by Wink, REN TV, and NMG Doc). A special press jury and experts from RG-Media unanimously highlighted Okko’s project Gorbushka. The Heart of Russian Rock, which took home awards for best special concept and best handling of cultural heritage. The inaugural “Doc Innovation” technology award was presented to the NeuroDoc project from Kino Mail (VK).
The standout winner in total awards was Diyora. The Gentle Way (Kinopoisk), which swept trophies for Best Director (Sardor Kazi), Best Cinematography (Maxim Arbugaev, Alexander Krasnovsky), Best Story, as well as Best Original Female Subject and Best Original Male Subject (Diyora Keldiyorova).
Festival Program Director Susanna Alperina highlighted streaming platforms’ growing interest in deep non-fiction content and announced an upcoming seasonal trend: large-scale documentary companions to screen adaptations of the Strugatsky brothers’ works.
