The U.S. President has previously initiated several renamings of major geographical features: following a trade dispute with Canada, Lake Ontario was officially designated “Lake America,” while the Gulf of Mexico had earlier been renamed the “Gulf of America”—changes already reflected in Google and Apple mapping apps. Social media is also buzzing with rumors of a potential initiative to rename the state of New Mexico to “New America.”

The showrunners are keeping up their relentless satire of the White House. Last season, which earned the show an Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program, featured a grotesque storyline involving Trump and Vice President JD Vance.
