🤳 The Creator Economy Conquers FAST
The creator economy is no longer a niche experiment for free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) services. Today, creator-led channels are evolving into a central pillar of programming schedules—one that leading platforms are fiercely competing to secure.
During the Content Everywhere session (“How Youth Viewing Habits Are Reshaping TV”), Rafi Cohen, manager at research firm 3Vision, presented data confirming this seismic shift in media consumption. According to Cohen, FAST platforms have become a natural extension of monetization for creators. A steady stream of low-cost video production combined with vast content archives allows creators to effortlessly power 24/7 linear feeds.
Data from the 3Vision FAST Tracker report reveals that Samsung TV Plus and Pluto TV hold the largest share of creator channels, while Amazon and Roku are selectively courting top-tier talent. MrBeast serves as a prime example of this expansion, having established his brand presence across most major services. Their background in social media enables creators to enter crowded FAST catalogs with a distinct brand identity and a built-in fanbase—a crucial advantage for surviving in such a fiercely competitive market.
This trend mirrors a broader transformation: younger audiences switch seamlessly between creator-led content, gaming, social media, and traditional television. In response, YouTube has evolved from a mere distribution outlet into a full-fledged incubation environment for next-generation media content.
