🤳 Disney Brings Like Nastya to Its Streaming Platforms
Disney has entered into a strategic agreement with Like Nastya, the kids' media brand created by creator Anastasia Radzinskaya. The move reflects the entertainment giant's push to convert digital creators' massive followings into viewership across its own premium platforms.
The partnership encompasses both the production of new exclusive content and the licensing of existing catalog material:
- Animated Series: The companies will develop an original preschool animated series scheduled for release on Disney Jr. and Disney+.
- Live-Action Content: Joint development is planned for live-action projects aimed at kids, teens, and family audiences.
- Catalog Library: A portion of the existing Like Nastya video library will also join the Disney+ streaming catalog.
Financial terms of the deal and premiere dates for the new projects have not been disclosed.
The Like Nastya project was launched in Krasnodar in 2016. Initially created to help develop the young girl’s acting skills, the videos quickly grew into an international business, prompting the family to relocate to the United States.
Today, Like Nastya is a full-fledged media network operating commercial verticals ranging from licensing and merchandise to music releases:
- 25 YouTube channels in 22 languages
- Over 450 million total subscribers (>133 million on the main channel)
- Over 450 billion aggregate views
The deal continues Disney’s strategy of integrating independent digital creators with established multi-million fanbases. Bringing popular YouTube franchises to Disney+ allows the media conglomerate to mitigate risk when launching new children’s programming while retaining the attention of a digital-native generation.
