📱 Kinopoisk Launches Short-Form Videos

Title cards in the mobile apps (starting with iOS version 8.65 and Android version 7.96) now feature a section for vertical short-form videos. Aggregating over 30 hours of content across more than 800 titles, the feed includes key scenes, behind-the-scenes footage, detailed breakdowns, and editorial highlights.

The adoption of this format comes in response to shifting consumption patterns. Internal test data reveals that users scrolling through the “What to Watch” feed add titles to their watchlists (“Will Watch”) five times as often compared to traditional homepage navigation.

The platform has also expanded its integrations with third-party streaming services and TV channels. Users can now browse catalogs from domestic platforms like Ivi, Okko, Wink, Premier, Kion, Amediateka, Start, and Smotrim, as well as global services including Netflix, Apple TV, and Disney+.

Users can “like” alternative services to prompt the platform’s Mnemonic algorithm to adjust personal recommendations, prioritizing content from selected platforms across homepage blocks. Titles from connected catalogs offer seamless playback playback or redirect to a “Where to Watch” card—a feature currently serving over 1.4 million monthly active users. Additionally, Kinopoisk launched a deep integration with Premier and a dedicated “Match!” sports hub supporting 4K live broadcasts.

Following its spring debut on TV Stations, the cloud gaming service “Igromir” has expanded its rollout to YaOS-powered devices and TVs running Android TV 12 or newer, extending its potential reach to an estimated 4 million Smart TVs.

The infrastructure allows users to launch games from linked Steam, Epic Games, and Lesta Games accounts (over 250 titles) directly through the app using a connected gamepad.
