🤝 Wink and Uzbektelecom Join Forces to Advance AI Technologies for Media Platforms

Wink streaming service and Uzbektelecom JSC have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to exchange expertise in the development of video services.

The primary focus of the partnership is the integration and testing of AI-driven solutions designed to optimize content catalog management, streamline platform operations, and personalize the user experience.

Under the partnership, Wink will share its practical expertise and the results of deploying its proprietary AI products built on Rostelecom’s infrastructure (including Neurogateway, AI platforms, and Turbo Cloud capacity) with its Uzbek counterparts.

The Russian side will showcase three key technologies:

  • Entertainment Agent: An intelligent conversational assistant capable of understanding vague and natural language queries (such as “a movie for tonight” or “something romantic”). Integrated directly into Wink’s user interface, the service helps 85,000 unique users discover content every month.
  • Transformer-Based Recommendation Model: A next-generation algorithm built on transformer architecture (similar to LLMs). The model treats viewing history as a coherent narrative—its attention mechanism isolates key signals and easily distinguishes accidental views (like children’s cartoons) from established user preferences. During beta testing with 4% of the audience, the model achieved a 1.5x increase in click-through rate (CTR) compared to traditional algorithms.
  • AI Content Editor: An ensemble of independent neural networks that automates the generation of metadata for movies and TV series. The system generates descriptions, synopses, and cast biographies from fragmented data, while also enhancing the quality of actor and crew portraits. The tool proves most effective when auditing and enriching legacy catalogs.

The joint initiative between Wink and Uzbektelecom reflects a global media industry trend, where AI tools are rapidly becoming the benchmark for boosting audience retention, accelerating production workflows, and driving operational efficiency.
