๐ŸŽž Trump Threatens 100% Tariffs on Foreign-Made Films

Donald Trump has once again stated his intent to impose a 100% tariff on all films made outside the United States.

According to him, the movie business has been “stolen” from America, and California, with its “incompetent” Governor, has been particularly hard hit by this.

He posted his menacing statement on Truth Social, writing that this measure would “solve a long-running, never-ending problem.” He made a similar statement in May regarding a “national threat” to American cinema.

Film production often moves abroad, particularly to the UK and New Zealand, due to more favorable tax incentives. However, it remains unclear how exactly Trump plans to define “foreign production,” considering that many major studio films, such as Dune or Mission: Impossible, are shot globally, but some of the work (pre-production or post-production) is still carried out in Los Angeles.
