🛒 World Content Market 2026 takes place in Kazakhstan
The international film and television market World Content Market – Almaty 2026, held on September 29–30 at the Novotel Almaty City Center, has wrapped up in Almaty.
The two-day B2B platform brought together international content distributors and buyers from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and other Central Asian countries.
Buyers focused heavily on new TV series, feature films, animation, documentary projects, and the increasingly popular micro-drama format for broadcast TV and OTT platforms.
Companies from 12 countries hosted booths in the exhibition area, including Kazakhstan, Russia, China, Turkey, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Belarus, Cyprus, Hungary, and Uzbekistan.
Key participants and exhibitors included:
- Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan: Freedom Media, Khabar Agency, RTRK Qazaqstan, Irida Global, National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan, and Content Center of Uzbekistan.
- Russia: Medialogistika (MSK-IX), Art Pictures Distribution, VGTRK / Sovtelexport, GPM RTV, First TVCH, TV Center, Odintsov Media (One-Media), B4R, CLS Media, and others.
- International Distributors: Beta Film (Germany), Rai Com (Italy), TV Tokyo (Japan), TRT, Inter Medya, Kanal D International (Turkey), Zee Entertainment, One Life Studios (India), and Animaccord (Cyprus).
The event gave buyers from the region’s leading media holdings and TV channels (such as Almaty TV, Astana TV, Seventh Channel, Channel One Eurasia, 31 Channel, NTK, KTK, and MY5 TV) a direct line to rights holders to lock in their broadcast schedules for the upcoming season.
The business program also featured four “Coffee with Buyers” pitch sessions hosted by Content Center of Uzbekistan, MediaHub, One Life Studios, and OGM Universe, blending flagship content presentations with informal networking.
Organizers noted that Almaty has firmly cemented its position as Central Asia’s primary media hub. Looking ahead, the World Content Market organizing committee is preparing to celebrate the project’s 20th anniversary next year.
