🎨 The Warner Bros. Water Tower Has Been Repainted

Following the closure of the merger between Paramount, Skydance, and Warner Bros. Discovery, the iconic water tower at the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank has received a makeover: crews have painted "A Skydance Corporation" onto its facade. Similar branding recently appeared on the Paramount tower as well.

David Ellison, CEO of the newly merged entertainment titan, announced that the entire conglomerate—encompassing the Paramount and Warner Bros. studios, streaming platforms Paramount+ and HBO Max, and broadcast networks CBS and CNN—is now officially named Skydance, after the company he founded in 2006.

The path to the deal took nearly a year. Ellison had to overcome significant regulatory hurdles, pushback from unions, and antitrust lawsuits filed by 12 states and the Writers Guild of America (WGA).

In a leadership address to employees, key priorities were outlined. The merger carries a heavy financial burden, with company debt standing at roughly $80 billion and targeted cost savings through streamilining projected to reach $6 billion. As a result, the media giant is bracing for an upcoming wave of layoffs.

“What once seemed like the summit is today only the beginning. Paramount and Warner Bros. have shaped culture for over a century. By bringing them together, we aren’t rewriting history—we are powering these iconic studios for a new era. Together, we are Skydance: the home for bold, high-quality storytelling,” David Ellison stated.
