📈 Yandex TV Ecosystem Exceeds 5 Million Devices
Yandex has announced significant growth in its television ecosystem: the number of active devices running on the YaOS and YaOS X platforms surpassed 5 million as of August 2025, an increase of nearly 30% year-over-year.
The Platforms: YaOS is a shell for smart TVs of various brands, while YaOS X is a proprietary Linux-based OS used on screen-equipped devices under the Yandex brand (TVs, “Station Duo Max”).
The share of time spent watching TV channels on Alice-enabled devices grew from 17% to 25% (+8 percentage points). Watching online cinemas remains the leader, with its share rising to 29% (+5 p.p.). Content consumption on video hosting services increased to 22%.
Time spent on Russian video services grew from 11% to 16%. Usage of “VK Video” on Yandex devices doubled—from 5% to 10%.
