๐Ÿ† FAST breaks engagement records in the US

Wurl has published a report on Connected TV (CTV) trends in the US. The data reveals the rapid growth of FAST (Free Ad-supported Streaming TV) channels, opening new opportunities for marketers.

The number of active households watching these free channels grew by 12% year-over-year, and the average time spent viewing per household increased by 16%. This resulted in an overall viewing time surge of 29%.

Viewers are not just watching longer but are also remaining more engaged: the average session duration per channel grew by 25%.

Reality shows, dramas, and documentaries dominate the content. News maintains a stable share and grows significantly during major events.

Despite the audience growth, advertisers have not yet fully utilized this channel. Ad fill rates are currently lower than in previous years.
