🎼 Virtual VJs to debut on music channel
The music television channel ROXi has introduced the first fully AI-generated virtual hosts in the US and UK.
They will present music programs, sharing facts, jokes, and interesting insights about the artists.
The virtual hosts will appear on the ROXi channel in the US and on Sky in the UK and Ireland.
Rob Lewis, CEO of FastStream Interactive (the channel operator), stated that AI provides a “much more engaging viewer experience” than traditional production with live actors.
“With AI, we can show ROXi VJs introducing Beyoncé from a yacht off her favorite Caribbean island without having to hire a film crew or charter a yacht,” Lewis explained.
The company acknowledges actors’ concerns about AI but believes the technology is necessary to attract a younger audience to TV and to transform entertainment content.
