๐บ๐ TV viewing time rises in Russia
According to Mediascope data, television remains extremely popular in Russia: 97% of Russians tune in at least once a month.
The average daily audience is 62% of the population, spending about 3 hours and 20 minutes in front of the screen per day.
In 2025, the overall decline in TV viewing among Russians aged 4+ has paused. Moreover, among the children’s audience (4-17 years old), the average TV viewing time for the first nine months of 2025 has grown compared to 2024.
The older the viewer, the more time they spend watching TV:
35-44 years: about 2.5 hours;
55-64 years: over 5 hours per day.
Nearly half of all viewing time is dedicated to series (29%) and entertainment programs (20%). News content accounts for 18%, and films and animation for 12%.
Contrary to the trend toward online consumption, television in Russia maintains a strong position, particularly among the older generation, and is also gaining popularity among children.
