๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น Netflix invests $1.1 billion in Italian cinema

Netflix is marking its 10th anniversary in Italy by announcing a strategic partnership with Europe's oldest film school, the Fondazione Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (CSC).

The main collaborative project is the reopening of the historic Cinema Europa in Rome. Netflix will not only fund the renovation and operational costs but will also host cultural and educational events there together with the CSC.

From 2021 to 2024, Netflix invested over โ‚ฌ1.1 billion in the Italian audiovisual industry, creating over 5,500 jobs. Over the past 10 years, more than 1,000 Italian titles have been released, filmed in over 100 cities across the country.

Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos emphasized that the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to Italian creative heritage, which he promised to promote globally.

This move solidifies Netflix’s position as one of the most active international streamers in Italy.
