⚖️ Law on "forgotten" subscriptions to take effect on March 1
The President of the Russian Federation has signed a law that will protect users from unwanted automatic charges for online subscriptions.
What is changing:
❗️ Ban on Autodebit. Services are prohibited from automatically debiting money for subscriptions from bank cards that the user has removed from their personal account (on websites, in applications, or information systems).
❗️ Mandatory Cancellation Option. Service providers are obliged to ensure a comprehensive, accessible option for refusing a subscription and auto-payment, including in electronic form.
The law affects all players—from online cinemas and streaming platforms to paid applications operating under a subscription agreement.
Deputies emphasized that the law’s goal is to protect consumer rights.
The new rules will come into force on March 1, 2026.
