๐ Yandex increases its presence
The Yandex company has reported a significant increase in the number of devices running its proprietary operating system, YaOS, which is now being actively used for online content viewing.
The number of TVs and TV Stations running YaOS/YaOS X grew by 29% year-on-year. The total number of active devices running YaOS in households surpassed 5 million in August 2025.
YaOS devices are increasingly used for viewing content on online cinemas (29% of usage time). The viewing time of traditional TV channels with “Alice” (Yandex’s voice assistant) also grew (from 17% to 25%).
The consumption time for content on Russian services overall has increased by almost one and a half times (from 11% to 16%). VK Video in the video hosting category doubled its usage time (from 5% to 10%).
The company notes that amid the departure of foreign manufacturers, user trust in Russian OSes is growing, and the development of YaOS is a strategic direction for Yandex in creating a full-fledged ecosystem.
