🚀 Africa outpaces the World in media market growth rates
PwC has published a report stating that the African Entertainment and Media (E&M) market is growing faster than the global average.
Nigeria remains the fastest-growing E&M market in Africa, with a forecasted Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 7.2% through 2029.
Kenya leads the world in the growth rate of the internet advertising market, with a projected CAGR of 16%.
South Africa is the most developed market, where video content consumption accounts for over 76% of all data volume.
The growth is driven by the expansion of mobile internet and the demand for digital services: Nigeria already has over 107 million internet users.
There is strong growth in music streaming and OTT platforms, which are gradually displacing traditional TV.
The gaming and esports industry is also rapidly developing, and generative AI is becoming a key force transforming content creation and consumer interaction.
