๐ŸŽฃ Scammers lure 100,000 viewers to fake Nvidia stream

During the broadcast of the official Nvidia GTC conference, thousands of viewers fell for a scam: a fake stream running parallel featured a deepfake of CEO Jensen Huang.

The counterfeit broadcast, launched from a channel called “Nvidia Live,” garnered about 100,000 viewers, while the official stream was watched by only about 20,000 people.

The AI-generated Huang announced the postponement of the main event in favor of promoting a “crypto mass adoption event” that was allegedly “directly related to Nvidia’s mission.”

Viewers were urged to scan a QR code on the screen and send cryptocurrency. It is not yet clear whether the scammers successfully obtained funds.

The incident occurred despite Nvidia itself being one of the main beneficiaries of the AI boom. This was the fourth time Huang had hosted GTC this year, which likely made the creation of a high-quality deepfake easier.
