๐Ÿ›’ Netflix considers buying WBD studio and streaming assets

The streaming giant Netflix is actively considering the possibility of acquiring the studio and streaming business of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD).

The company has hired the investment bank Moelis & Co and gained access to WBD’s financial data.

The potential assets include Warner Bros. Studio (with franchises like Harry Potter and DC Comics) and the HBO service with its prestigious content and subscribers. Warner Bros. TV already produces Netflix hits such as You.

Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos confirmed that the company is not interested in buying WBD’s traditional cable networks (CNN, TNT, etc.), referring to them as “legacy media networks.”

Netflix’s interest intensifies competition, as WBD has already received offers from Paramount Skydance and is considering options for selling or splitting its assets.
