๐ฐ Starlink Reaches 8 Million Subscribers
The satellite internet service Starlink has announced that its subscriber count has exceeded 8 million worldwide. Growth continues at a high pace, with an average of 14,250 new users connecting to the service daily (+17% compared to the previous figure).
Starlink serves over 150 countries and territories. Analysts predict the customer base will reach 13โ14 million by the end of 2026.
The company has introduced significant discounts for new subscribers in France, Germany, and Spain (up to 40%). For instance, the “Roam Unlimited” tariff has been lowered from โฌ89 to โฌ50 per month for the first six months. The discounts were made possible by the expansion of orbital coverage.
According to unconfirmed reports, SpaceX has won contracts worth $2 billion for the “Golden Dome” missile defense project for the US armed forces. The Pentagon requires about 600 tracking satellites by 2028.
The imminent connection of markets such as India and South Africa is expected to add several more million users.
