👵 Older Audiences Are Watching Full-Length Films on YouTube
According to a study by Ampere Analysis, 85% of internet users visit YouTube every month. The platform is rapidly becoming a major hub for long-form content: 18% of users now watch full-length films and TV series there.
The main driver of long-form content consumption is the older demographic (ages 35–64), whose engagement is reshaping global viewing habits.
Growth is also being fueled by households with children, suggesting that YouTube is often used for family viewing by parents and grandparents alike.
The share of users watching movies on YouTube varies widely — from 32% in India and 20% in Saudi Arabia to 15% in the United States. In countries such as Brazil and Mexico, high levels of viewing are recorded on Smart TVs.
Analysts note that these viewers are “super content consumers” — engaging with a broader range of genres than the average online user.
