🇬🇧 More Than Half of Britons Have Fewer Than Three Subscriptions
According to a report by Samba TV, the UK streaming market has matured and is now defined by selective consumers who prioritize savings and carefully choose their content.
More than half of UK households have fewer than three streaming subscriptions. The largest segment (23%) subscribes to only one service.
Netflix dominates through sheer volume, producing 59% of the 100 most popular shows (Prime Video accounts for 17%). The platform also claimed 9 out of the top 10 film positions.
Britons prefer intense, story-driven content: drama (57%) and crime (30%) remain the most popular genres among top hits.
The most binge-watched categories are documentary series (44%), as well as thrillers and crime.
Analysts note that to remain part of consumers’ increasingly limited subscription portfolios, platforms must offer differentiated and high-quality content.
