🧠 AI-Generated Content to Require Mandatory Labeling
A group of lawmakers has submitted to the State Duma a package of bills that would require social networks and video-hosting platforms to label all content created using artificial intelligence.
Key requirements:
▪️ Videos must display a permanent on-screen label such as “Generated by AI” or a similar notice.
▪️ Metadata of the video file must include information indicating the use of AI.
The proposal introduces administrative fines for non-compliance: 200,000–500,000 rubles for legal entities and 10,000–50,000 rubles for individuals.
According to the authors, the initiative aims to protect users from manipulation and misinformation in the media space.
