💼 Former Spotify Head Takes Over Start

Ilya Alekseev has been appointed the new CEO of the streaming service Start. He previously led Start’s subscription development department and, before that, served as Spotify’s General Manager for Russia and the CIS (2019–2022).

Ilya Alekseev will focus on implementing the platform’s three-year strategy. The main goal is to reach 12 million household subscribers by 2027.

In his previous role, he successfully expanded partnership-based subscriptions, which helped double the number of paying users in the first half of 2025, reaching 6.8 million.

Ilya Alekseev will report directly to Eduard Iloyan, CEO of the parent group and chief producer of Start, who will continue overseeing content policy and the strategic development of the platform.
